Well today is one of those days when you think Hmmmmmmmm what can I get into today? Well still didnt find anything but I did go and visit some friends and my former mother-in-law. My friend Betty, her mother is getting on up there. She just turned 82 the other day and is not in good health but she can still remember the mischief that Betty and I would get into in high school. As I was sitting there this evening she turned and asked if I was going to spend the night. At first I thought maybe she was trying to tell me get out Im ready for bed but she was serious and I said, no mom I cant do that, and she said awh she just remembered when we were kids and how she would have to tell us to get to bed. I told her I would come some night and stay and that really seemed to make her day. You know that sometimes older folks want more than just a memory to tuck them in at nights they want the real thing. I can remember after my grandfather passed and how I would go and stay with my grandma at nights so she wouldnt be alone. Sometimes we need to put our things to the side and go and make someones day. We cant always go spend the night but a few hours here or there are certainly manageable and you never know when it might be the last time you get to spend with them. Im going to quit being so busy that I can go and spend more time with her and my friend Betty and instead of her just remembering of the old days make new memories to share.
