Well , today is the demise of another small drop zone in Ky . Jumping for Fun d z closed today . Now everyone will drive lots of miles to make a jump out of any type air craft . One jump center left in Ky , . In these times once they close their not going to open again , soon itll be over except for the large money makers scattered fair apart over the country .I blame the lack of up and coming sky divers on tandem jumping , just read Parachutist mag. So much tandem jumping , the bucket list is every where . What Im trying to say is you may see 20 + tandem passengers posing for a picture and not one will come back a become a sky diver . I think its the rot of the sport ! From the way I understood it in the beginning tandem was meant as a introduction and training aid to the sport . I m old school , when I started I told my wife I was going to jump out of an air plane by myself not buckled to someone and go for a ride. Yes , times have changed !!
