Well today my son Joel and I tackled one of the messiest jobs that any 281 owner has to do - replace a falling vinyl liner. In this case, the aft berths liner was only being held up by PFDs that were wedged against it. Here are some shots from the project, which took about 4 hours and hopefully will not have to be done again in my lifetime. I recommend wearing a mask during the job because who knows what kind of mold is growing behind those vinyl liners. Most of the old adhesive could be removed in pieces, but we did resort to 3M adhesive remover for some stubborn areas. We used 3M yellow super trim adhesive to hold the new liner up. I went with a slightly lighter color than the original beige, but perhaps an even darker color would look unique. Thanks Joel for making this project fun and less time-consuming than it could have been!
