Well, todays the day...been putting this off since I replaced all the sewage hose at Christmas time..the last piece from the head up to the vent loop. Why now? Because the head started leaking. Didnt notice at first. It was so small...but..enough to start a fly breeding..Maureen thought shed gotten to the source of the odor when she cleaned the head compartment with bleach, but...noooo...that only covered the smell. It really wasnt bad...until a couple of days ago. The smell got worse...so did the flies. Turns out it was leaking at the base gasket. Time for a complete rebuild. The good news. Its been two full years since I put this new head in. A Raritan PH-II. Our previous Wilcox-Crittendon (now Thetford) that came with the boat needed a rebuild every year. Last year I changed the joker valve and the inlet gaskets, all easily removed without complete disassembly. This time, though...the whole head had to come apart. So...there goes my Sunday. I shooed Maureen off with a neighbor that was going out for a boat ride...so at least shes spared the bulk of the....crap. ;-) Well be better for it, though...so, cant complain too much...and Ill get over it pretty quickly. At least, the sky is blue, the sun is shining brightly, its all of 75 degrees and all the ports and hatches are wide open... Hope youre enjoying YOUR Sunday more than mine.. ;-)
