Well, two weeks in NICU. This is tough. But, technically Dougies due date was April 4. So Im looking at it like we are still on track. Dougie is doing good. We were transferred over to the Childrens hospital for a couple of days for a more in depth look at his heart. Everything came back good! Amazing! He had a number of blood draws too, they are making sure that his thyroid is working properly. I have a feeling that he just needs a little more time to relieve the hypertension. I kinda feel like he should have stayed in utero a bit longer, but hey, Im glad he is here, and he really is doing well. Today I decided to bottle feed him because one of the requirements for going home is that he takes a full feeding every 3 hours. He was being a bit lazy with breast feeding. If he didnt step up his transfer we would have to take him home with a NG tube, or GI tube. Well, he took the bottle like a champ. All feedings today were full feedings accept for his 9pm. He was a bit tired. 24 hours of full feeds and he is considered up to par! Hes very close to going home, even if he goes home on a bit of oxygen, the amount he needs is barely 2% above normal. Thinking on the positive side, we will be home this week. If you have called or text me I apologize for not responding. I am on a strict schedule with Dougie. Honestly, Ive never been more overwhelmed in my life. But, this is what you do for your kids. I will come back to Earth soon, I can feel it. Thank you for your prayers, they are working miracles. We have one strong little guy. Thanks to Grammy Dana too. She has literally been holding our house together. Making sure Dottys days are filled with love and food. ;)... and keeping some kind of normalcy in her little life. This is crazy, but such is life. I wise woman once told me:This too shall pass! Amen to that!
