Well we had a great mid summers day! Firstly at Llanerchymedd show, another fabulously well run local event that is always a pleasure to go to. Excellent judging, organising and quality competition. Plenty of superb horses and ponies forward and loads of people having fun too. Then it was off to the beach for our solstice beach ride and sausage feast. We took 6 horses and ponies and joined Alex and Andrew and their lovely little boys, Manon and Aled and their over grown children now bloody great well grown young people (where does the time go!), Michael Roberts who performed the frying pan honours behind the call of duty and did a fantastic job, Gran Fay Harris who brought sausage rolls and her chair and hat, The Archers, Mary, Samantha, Kathleen, little(!!! 5.8+ at 12 yrs) Mary, Joleen and Tommy Joe, Elena and Andy with their great kids Cerys, Anna and Barry John, Last but not least, straight from work at 7pm, Amy Wyatt. Everyone had a fantastic time, small people went crabbing, Connor led a charge with Tommy Joe, Olli and Ewan Giving him a run for his money helped by Kathleen, Cerys, Anna and Barry, Robyn and Sean had a bold canter on Brenin and Berti, Alex on Connor, Kathleen on Cara, Ffion and Manon both got brave and rode Morgan, very impressed with Fionn and Manon hasnt ridden in years! Then Seans girlfriend Gwen rode too, real family day out, stopped short of putting Aled on a horse, nothing sturdy enough ! Nice to see how well behaved the Ewan and Ollis spaniel was , so much better than our Tansy! Great to have Mary Archer and sister Samantha Evans with us, Ive missed the at the shows and Pony Club just recently, Samantha is so busy just lately with their popular carpet and house hold goodies shop Archer carpets and Coast to Coast. Angelas burgers disappeared virtually on sight they were so nice, the sausages just kept going and going, huge thanks to Michael, but we didnt make a dent in Alexs red onion marmalade so Im keeping it safe till our next beach ride/party in a month. Amy, Robyn and Sean had one all out race on Morgan, Connor and Berti, not something I allow usually but it was exciting, they really opened them up with Connor winning easily but only by a length and Morgan and Amy giving it a bloody good go. Didnt finish till 10, drove home in the lovely warm daylight and put the horses away with Elena and Cerys as the sun finally went down. Also had our last 2014 foal from Lucy today, is Morrigan Midsummer too long a name?! Excellent way to spend a special day with special people. Thanks for coming everyone! Suggested dates for the next beach event here!
