Well we have been really busy around here now that the weather is warming up finally. We have started the process of cleaning up the slaughter house and preparing for this season. We are brushing the dust off the equipment after this long winter. I have already gotten a few emails and phone calls about slaughtering. We will be starting the first weekend in June and will slaughter every Saturday throughout the month, like we have always done. Just call or email me at greaneye309@gmail to schedule an appointment. And believe it or not, we have even started getting the barn cleaned out. We moved out all the feeders and equipment that we had stored in there for the winter. Within the next week we should be getting all of the manure moved out of the barn. I personally cannot wait to wash out the barn with the soap and water when it gets a little warmer. It was harder than you would think to keep dad out of the barn, it was like having a little kid around. Sometimes it feels like I am baby sitting him. He still hasnt caught on to Ben and me hiding his work boots so he cannot go out to the barn. He sure will feel like he is missing out this year. He even let Ben roto-till the garden, a job that Dad has had for thirty years, which was amazing. Ben already stole his spot in the slaughter house with the scalder and plucker, and now the tractor. We told Dad that if he was good, he would be able to plant his tomato plants, from Amy at Tomato Lovers Paradise, in the garden. Now he is counting down the days until then. Mom told me the difference between men and boys is the prices of their toys, and that is true. Any ideas on how to keep dad occupied and out of trouble? Emily
