Well, we have had the blessing of staying in a beautiful home in the Palm Springs area over the last week. The day we arrived we were faced with the significant threat of a massive fire (largest of the year in California) that was interestingly enough called "fire in the mountain" and "mountain fire". There has been zero rain in the area since April and only 40% of normal rains for the year. Last night 1.5 inches came down in Palm Springs (tram area recording) and flash flooding closed some streets. The Coachella valley has also been inundated. Right now a significant storm is brewing outside with flash flood warnings. California your drought is breaking.
