Well, we just got back from dropping Daniel off at Howard Payne University. We are so proud of Daniel. Let me tell you a little something about Daniel Reid "Dedo" Johnston. Daniel has truly made us proud. As a young kid he had to grow up quick which is something a parent hopes their children never have to do. I had to lean on him quite a bit when he was younger and loved his willingness just to help me out! Then, a very loving, giving, compassionate woman came in to my life that was an answer to prayer. Daniel could be a kid again. We told him to enjoy all of his High School days, and he did. He worked hard in school and hard on the basketball court. In the end, earned a great scholarship to Howard Payne, where we just left him. Leaving him, now that was a moment, as his father, I will cherish all of my life. To see him embrace Dodie, JM, Spencer, Briggs, Matthew, Mikayla, Colby, and Dustin was an absolute wonderful, heart-warming, time. Our prayer time, in a circle, in the What-a-burger parking lot lifting Daniel in prayer (thanks Colby) was a beautiful. What a fitting thing to do to send him off to college with such a passionate prayer and for Daniel to know that he has the love of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and his family!! We are extremely proud of him and cannot wait, well, maybe momma will want to wait a bit, to do this again with the rest of our bunch! Daniel, as your father, I am very proud of you and love you very much!!!
