Well, we pretty much crapd out @ the AS scrapyard. I found these awesome tail lights (never been fond of the square lenses on the ones that came on the Tumbleweed). And they were already off their former AS, just sittin inside the door of a burned out carcass. Although we really cant afford such a splurge right now ($50./both), Cow Boy Dave was gonna find a way to make it happen. But after thorough examination & consultation on size, fit & finish, we discovered that the installation process for them would be totally different. Theyre snap-riveted from the interior (which we dont have easy access to) & ours are screwed in from the exterior. Couple that with the fact that wed lose a functioning light to a reflector & need to rewire the whole darn thing, helped us decide to pass on the whole unnecessary project. I think theydve looked GREAT on The Tumbleweed, but our good/common sense prevailed. We DID however score a couple of ceiling/roof vent cranks, and at a price we could afford... FREE!! I had to get resourceful, but in that same burned out AS, I was able remove these two cranks & screws (2 of our 3 are stripped), that are metal as opposed to the cheap plastic ones we have. I should be able to clean em nicely & put em back into service. Overall it wasnt much of a score, but at least now we know whats there (& whats NOT) and we had a nice day out & about.
