Well, we survived our first night on the floor. Needless to say, this mama is sleepy! Kimber did great, but Im sure everyone knows about the disturbances you have in the hospital. It wouldnt be so bad, but I want us both to be able to stay rested so that we can stay well too. Kimber is finally on room air and doing well. Its so different to see her O2 at 100% instead of 75%-80%. Shes been a little bit whiny today, not breath holding temper tantrum fussy, but just a little whiny off and on. I dont know if its from withdrawals, or if shes just tired from last night and from the big move, but we dont play around with her being upset. Shes scheduled for a swallow stuff tomorrow and an echo and VCUG on Friday. Her pulses are weaker in her lower extremities than in her upper extremities, so theyre going to check and make sure she doesnt have any narrowing in her aorta when they do the echo. Apparently its not an uncommon problem to have in hypoplasts that have been transplanted. Im going to go with no, she doesnt have a problem because its time she receives a break. Theyve begun to speak of discharge possibly being next week. We definitely have a range of emotions associated with the D word, but I really cant wait to have our family together again. We still have a few more months before we can go home home, but out of the hospital sounds good too. Her tacro levels are still way too low, so theyre trying to get her medicine adjusted to just the right amount. This is one of her anti rejection meds.
