Well well well….two weeks ago we were defending an NFL player who hits his wife, today we are defending mobs burning down gas stations, busting out windows in police cars, and creating chaos in the night in St. Louis. I know it is hard for some of us to criticize black people for anything for fear that you will be cast down for not being black enough. Let me say this I love black people and I will always defend them, but love is critical at times too. Let’s defend black people but do not try to convince me of ignorant things in the process. The death of Michael Brown is beyond painful and there are many ways to deal with pain, anger, and sadness. However, do not compel me to believe that the only way my people, BLACK PEOPLE can express their frustration is to burn down gas stations, after of course we stole all the honey buns, sunflower seeds, liquor, and Gatorade. DO NOT TELL ME, those looter were sad for Michael Brown when they stole rims from a tire store or weave from a beauty supply store, and didnt vote in the St. Louis County Executive elections last week! Do not tell me that! If they acted out of sadness for Michael Brown, then I am President Abraham Lincoln. Do not insult my intelligence and the pride of the race by saying criminal acts honor the memory of Mr. Michael Brown. DO NOT DO IT, I will call you out on it every time. “First, were we truly men of courage with the courage to stand up to one’s enemies and the courage to stand up, when necessary to one’s associates.” -President John F. Kennedy
