Well, were 3 days away from our wonderful playground build and I think were all feeling a little separation withdrawal. Since it was such an intense process we now will miss all of our phone calls and preparation for the actual day of the build. I just want to thank everyone once again for coming our on Friday to help us build such a wonderful play space for our families. I especially want to thank Mike Carmody and the Opportunity Knocks group, the Oak Leyden Development Services group and the Oak Park & River Forest CITE (Consortium for ITS Training and Education) group for joining us. They were a huge help in moving the enormous mound of mulch that needed to be spread everywhere. We can never thank the Discover, Kaboom, and Day Nursery volunteers enough for all that they did. I also have to give a big thanks to Todd Mazza of New Ground Playground Builders that has helped us from the beginning with his guidance and suggestions. It truly was an experience that I wont ever forget and it just shows what a community can do when we decide to work together for something important, especially when it comes to our kids. Wish I was a lot younger as it would be fun to be a Kaboom groupie and just follow them around and install playgrounds. We are having an Open House/Annual Meeting on Thursday, September 25 beginning at 6:00 p.m. and would love to have you join us for the dedication and tours of the Day Nursery. Please join us so that we can show off this special space that we were fortunate to build with so many wonderful people. I know Im sounding a little over the top, but I cant help myself.
