Well, weve had our excitement for the day. On our way home from Mass, just past Good Hope Contracting on CR 437 (AKA Old 69), and a fawn (maybe 50 lb, still half spotted) dashed out from the woods on our left and WHAMMED into our left rear quarter-panel. It was still alive, just lying on the road, so we called 911; they transferred us to the State Troopers, and they said theyd send one out to euthanize it. We were waiting for him, and the deer got up, staggered to the edge of the woods, and collapsed. Meanwhile, a doctor who lives out in the area had stopped to see if we were okay; he picked the deer up and took it back to his farm. So we called and cancelled the trooper. All that, and there isnt a mark on the Focus. My rating of Ford construction just went up about 100%. Thats a first for me -- first deer that has ever contacted a vehicle that I was in. Please note that I didnt run into it; it ran into me.
