Well what a disaster from start to end. Brake failure and exhaust - TopicsExpress

Well what a disaster from start to end. Brake failure and exhaust failure on the test day and some minor handling issues. Race day started well enough with a goid qualifying session from Steven Crichton getting us on P26 overall and P12 in class. Started prep for race only to find that my fuel tank had not been repaired properly and I could only run with 10 litres of fuel max and even at that when braking it was sloshing out. I was starting and got a Bullet start not the gun type but Andy Goddard type although I dont think I was dead last. After 10 or so laps the butchered exhaust came loose so had to signal I was coming in and Steven Crichton was out. Left him out for his stint while I repaired and got ready. I was out again for my 2nd stint and the strategy was to run till my fuel light came on, not long on a SP1 on 10 littes, think Steven Crichton only had time to fuel and drink ehen he got the signal that he was out again. My next stint was over 20 mins so not too but although Steven Crichton had a shortened stint due to pitting with severe leg cramp. Next session was short as soon as I went out I knew something was up with the handling of my bike and only when I was blacked flagged and came in to find my left boot and back wheel covered in oil I knew my bikes race was over, a failed output shaft bearing. We could have continued on 1 bike but would have been last in those still racing so decided to retire. Thanks to Steven Crichton, Andy Goddard, Jill Goddard, Nikki, Graeme Bell, for there help and Arron Harte for pit assistance and Initiatec CCTV team for Garage help. All in all a shit race but still a great weeken. Now need to go and work to pay for the repair.
