Well what a year. Its really unfortunate that its been cut short a month due to a torn meniscus, but I couldnt have hoped for a better GAP year. At the start of the year, I had ambitions to travel as much as possible and meet as many people as possible, and I can definitely say Ive done both. I wont go into detail of everything Ive done but some great times and travels include PaddyWagon in Ireland, skiing in France for a week, staying with my mate Wenzel Liechtenstein in his castle in Liechtenstein, Tomorrowland with Jackson Garrels, Corfu in Greece with numerous Aussies and Americans, Quad-Biking at the SAS Military Compound in Wales with Rocky Barbar and the Wales v Australia Rugby match at Millennium Stadium with James Green, Sophie Davies and Jackson Garrels to name but a few! To all the people Ive met or caught up with this year, Americans, Brazilians, Russians, Mexicans, Spanish, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, English, French, Austrians, Germans, Greeks, Italians, Ukrainians, Swiss, Liechtensteiners, Belgiums, Dutch, Moroccans, Korean, Chinese, Indonesians, all the other countries Ive forgotten, and to all the Kiwis, Saffas and fellow Aussies I met and travelled with this year, thank you. To my U14As Rugby Team, good luck for the rest of the season, coaching you has been a real highlight of the year! To all the Monmouth Rugby lads, cheers for all the nights out, was a real pleasure to get to know all of you. Most importantly, to Roy Elliott Oakley, Lauren Brindley, Samuel Crichard, James Paek, Rachel Meaton, Nate Morawetz, Isaac Zarifeh, Will Callaghan and Ollie Thicknesse, thanks for all the good times in Monmouth and getting each other through the long hours of work, will miss you all. Everyone is expected to send me a message if theyre ever in Australia so I can return the favour! Big tip for those travelling next year, say yes to every opportunity and keep your contacts and friends; its all about who you know and not about what you know, and I know I have made many lifelong mates this year because of this motto. Looking forward to getting back to Australia as I fly out in an hour, and look forward to catching up with everyone back home.
