Well what an awesome day! The Gates of Hell strongman competition was a huge success. Some amazing efforts, heaps of PBs lots of first time competitors, awesome sponsors and amazing prizes. Places: 1st- Zach Holmes (Van Demon Fitness) /Jo Price (Van Demon Fitness) 2nd- James Thomas (CrossFit Colossus) / Tamara Coleman(Van Demon Fitness) 3rd- Greg Young (CrossFit Resonate) / Alison Dan (CrossFit Works) Biggest Deadlift as percent of body weight: Tamara Coleman 199% (Van Demon Fitness) Adam Dance 254% (Van Demon Fitness) This was a long day where things went wrong, plans were broken and the rule book got thrown out the window at times but it was amazing to see so many varied gyms and people come together in such a supportive environment. Well done to all competitors. Thank you to all spectators and a huge thank you to all helpers on the day. Amazing day that will certainly be an annual event!
