Well what an up and down weekend Windsor was , from disqualifications, rubbing paint and overnight fibreglass works to winning races it certainly had it all. The wash up for team Immortal was not all that good, after Marks 2 disqualifications and 2 wins it sees us slip in the championship points and now means nothing short of a faultless performance at Adelaide is needed. Adelaide will also see Immortal defending our Australasian championship the Marj Watson trophy. We have been busy since Windsor leaving nothing to chance to ensure we are on our game. We have decided to install airbags in the deck of the boat for safety reasons, as we are now consistently doing 140mph+. This means cutting new access covers into the deck, 2 each side, although this seems like a lot of work safety is something that cannot be compromised at any cost . We have also had to do some repairs to the boat following a few altercations at Windsor . As well as having to turn the boat over and do work underneath. As I write this the boat is sitting upside down with Mark and Brett glassing and sanding away , it’s hard to believe that in just a few weeks it will be tearing down the straight at Adelaide doing over 140pmh . As always with this team just because we are not racing does not mean we are not working, there is always something happening to improve safety, speed, handling..etc… with the tireless efforts of our crew and gun engine builder Brett Niddrie (BNR ENGINES) and Lucas oils backing us, we certainly keeping the immortal machine purring, we can’t wait for Adelaide. Bring it on!!!! Team Immortal
