Well what can I can but that was a Christmas like no other before. First time ever spending it away from my family but spending it with another one of my families. I went out to Explore The North with a beautiful and loving girlfriend and came back with a beautiful and loving fiancé Zoë Mills :D because she said yes when i asked her to marry me in a teepee on and island in the middle of a frozen lake. We got to spend and share our extra special Christmas with two very close and special friends Ollie Sunday Wilkins and Kellie Nips Fraser. I got a chance to snow shoe, cross country ski, to drive a snowmobile at speed in the dark up a frozen river, drive a five dog husky sled (more than once) and witness some truly unbelievable Northern Lights (more than once). I have now experienced -27 degree temperatures, learnt the benefits of wool, layering clothes correctly and incorrectly, drunk water from my frozen beard, found out that my camera will still work even when Im wondering around with it on the end of a poll in the dark at -27 totally exposed to the cold for around an hour and how strong a five dog husky team really is. It is now very easy to see why Ollie and Kellie have both fallen in love with the place and the job they are doing and Im so glad ive been able to share a just a few days of the life they currently have. Its one of those thing you need to just go and do to truly understand what it feels like. I couldnt recommend it more. The place is owned and managed by a lovely couple and staffed by a whole team of super friendly and welcoming men and woman, O and also Thomas Gooding too ;) (it was great to catch up with you as well matey nice to see you happy and glad you liked your christmas jumper) It was sad saying goodbye to my good friend at the airport this morning but plans for potential future adventures have been talked about over a fine glass of whiskey by the fire and I know myself and Zoe would certainly like to return to Explore the North for another visit.
