Well, where do I start... Christmas is all about getting together with those you love and celebrating the day together. Christmas is all about sharing and giving as well as receiving. Unfortunately for some, they will be spending this Christmas alone. Some have children and cant afford to put a Christmas lunch on the table, never mind buy any presents. Last night I heard about one such family; a young lady on her own with three girls aged 3, 5 & 9. I put up a post asking for help from anyone who could donate a small gift to please let us know so we could help this young family. Your response has been nothing short of amazing. As soon as I got to work this morning gifts came flooding in. Myself and Mrs Brewer have spent our whole day wrapping all these presents. I know I can speak for Sharon as well as myself when I say that we are SO PROUD to be part of a community that cares about others. Your generosity never seizes to amaze us. We have been in tears today (big old softies ha ha). There are so many people we would like to thank, people who came with bags and bags full of presents, but I dont even know where to start and I know I would miss someone out. So, to all of you that brought presents, THANK YOU! To Percy Dawes Butchers (Alfreton) for giving a meat pack, THANK YOU! And for little Lottie who brought some of her wonderful outfits and teddies, THANK YOU! You really are a wonderfully caring community that we are so proud to be part of. XXX MERRY CHRISTMAS! XXX
