Well worth reading - especially for the history behind Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act. The article does a good job of explaining how the conservatives on the current SCOTUS are allowing the very scenarios that made Section 5 necessary to emerge again. That they dont get this is an indictment of either their intelligence, or their moral character - theyre either dumb, willfully uninformed about matters on which they are rendering crucial judgments, partisan hacks, or blatant classists/racists. Im not sure which is worse, but the consequences are the same.
