Well yesterday I was welcomed home by a huge smile from generally everyone in the house but more especially from my 9 year old daughter u Naledi,she got another gold certificate at the Ehlanzeni district Eisteddfod where she and other A+ learners were selected from various schools from the district . So she narrated a story to me about how scared she was on stage in front of hundreds of educators,learners and parents,how she almost forgot her speech and she managed to remember her words just by thinking of me and how I was helping her practice for it . And a tear rolls down my eye as I type this recalling the expression on her face as she said that because I know that no matter how far or close I may be I always make sure that I support her,I called her in early hours of the morning on Friday to check up on her and for her to recite the speech for me again over the phone just to hear if she is on point . All that I want to say is that Parental support is important for our kids,yes teachers are there but they have a particular role and so do we as mothers . confidence and courage is not taught at school,Im proud of this young girl I am raising . May God continue to bless and protect her
