Well yesterday evening was pretty eventful for me, lol. First I rescued a pit bull puppy off the street that kept following people and going into the road, and going back to my boyfriends for a belt or leash, I asked someone if they knew the dog and I was afraid they were going to start crying after they recognized him. Turns out it was missing since Saturday and the woman who was missing hims husband had died recently and she would have been heartbroken if she lost the dog too. Right after that my boyfriend and walked past a flock of Green Mallard ducks that were on the trail. Just for fun, I wanted to see if I could touch one of the ducks. Turns out the duck I was trying to touch couldnt fly or even open its wing all the way and had an sore-like wound on its joint. So I ended up catching it and taking it home to evaluate it and make sure it was ok. I knew if the duck couldnt fly then it cant migrate OR get away from predators and if it cant do that then it would eventually die especially with the upcoming winter here in Pennsylvania. Im going to try and take it to a vet or wildlife center sometime soon to see the extent of its injuries but if it cant be put back into the wild, then I have a new member of my zoo (as my mom likes to call it) family. Her name is Ducky; dedicated to the Land Before Time series I grew up with and NCISs Dr. Mallard.
