Welllllll, on my way home from the ED atm... I was walking out of the house last night about 920 to take my sons girlfriend home and when I stepped onto the second step I hit straight ice, fell flat on my back and hit my back on the next three steps going down. To make things worse, i hit EACH TIME right in the exact same spot where I had the two ruptured, herniated discs 7 years ago- L3-L4/L4-L5, YAY!! I managed after about 10 mins to pull my self up through the pain and make it to the top step after my son put some salt down. When I got to the top I paused before trying to step into the mud room and passed out, fell backwards and woke up 15-20 secs later staring at Blaines face! I truly suffered NO additional injury from that at all- PRAISE GOD!! Missy called 911 and I got my 2nd ride of my life in an ambulance, YAY AGAIN!! (Its weird being on the other side of a squad run...) Anyway, Dr did spinal check down my back and zero pain anywhere ON the spine- good sign! No need for any film but have deep tissue/muscle bruising and possible tear there also, not much can be done but rest and let it heal over time. Things could have been so much worse and I want to thank God and all those who were thing about and praying for me!! I really appreciate Springfield Township FD for their great response time and careful transport- You guys did GREAT!!
