Wellllllllllll....now didnt THAT just get even MORE interesting.. ------------------------------------- Almost buried in a secret recording made of a meeting between Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglus office which included intelligence chief Hakan Fidan, army deputy chief of staff Yasar Guler, and Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Feridun Sinirlioglu was the revelation that U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry repeatedly asked about and seemed to encourage a Turkish invasion of Syria. ... Translation: Many times Kerry has said to me Ok, did you make the decision to strike? What is less clear is whether Kerry was aware that Turkish plans for how to pull off an invasion included faking an attack by Al Qaeda on its own territory, either firing missiles from Syria into Turkey or attacking the tomb of the founder of the Ottoman Empire (the tomb is in Syria but is considered a sovereign enclave of Turkey). In Part 1 of the recording, Sinirlioglu says We’re going to portray this is Al-Qaeda, there’s no distress there if it’s a matter regarding Al-Qaeda. And if it comes to defending Suleiman Shah Tomb, that’s a matter of protecting our land. The leak resulted in Turkey blocking access to YouTube. You can find complete transcripts of the recording translated into English here. dailykos/story/2014/03/27/1287880/-John-Kerry-Encouraged-Turkish-Invasion-of-Syria?fb_action_ids=10152312281701678&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map=[593735654048385]&action_type_map=[%22og.likes%22]&action_ref_map=[]
