This year’s event will be held on Saturday, November 8th, at the Kern County Fairgrounds from 11am to 3pm. Just through the Fairgrounds gates, our guests can visit booths from the Tobin James and Madorom wineries, or get a cold beer at the Advance Beverage stand. There will also be representatives on hand from many local veterans service organizations, ready to answer any questions. For the kids there will be two bounce houses, face painting, clowns, and even military vehicles to climb on! Inside the exhibition hall, guests will be treated to a BBQ steak lunch prepared by Café Med and Mexicali while they enjoy our program. This years program will include a musical salute to America’s Veterans including tunes from each era. Tickets are available online now, from Vallitix, and at the gate. Tickets are priced at $10 for ages 13 and over, $5 for ages 6-12, and free for 5 and under. It is free for all veterans! The WHF is an organization that provides direct support to active and inactive military personnel from Kern County, such as transportation costs, lodging, and home modification to accommodate injuries. The WHF is unique in that it has no niche; every case is reviewed individually by the WHF Board of Directors, and a wide variety of assistance can be given based on the unique needs of our local veterans for their otherwise unmet needs. In order to raise the funds necessary to provide this assistance to our wounded heroes, the WHF needs your generous support of the “Salute to Our Local Heroes” event this year Thank you for your time and continued support Warmest Regards, Wendy Porter Executive Director The Kern County Wounded Heroes Fund has not-for-profit status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
