Went down to the video room for my coffee this morning. Snake had a fever so Edna was covering for him and Reuben was making the coffee and bringing it in thermos bottles to the big thermos in the video room. Reuben has proved to be a very reliable volunteer who gets along with everyone, so he was made a board member this last month. I took another long walk yesterday and stopped in to three thrift stores and a dollar store. I knew I was going to need to go shopping more than usual if I was going to give up hanging out with Doc. But I found a kitchen mop for $2.50 in the dollar store, cheapest so far, so I bought. I had decided I did not need to pay $9 for an Arizona calendar so I found one of some sunsets in the dollar store for $2. Then I found the beautiful jacket sweater I am wearing in my profile, so I came home and gave away the beige sweater with the snow man on it I bought for Xmas which was too big to my friend Ronda, also the suede light coat which I knew I would never wear once I got it home. She asked me if I had a long coat, so I gave her my London Fog raincoat I havent worn for a long time. I love giving clothes to people I think will look good on them. Too bad you all arent closer and I would give you something! I gave away my white cotton shirt with the butterflies on it, because I can only wear such a overpowering top a few times and I get uncomfortable. I think Kim got it. She was headed to the giveaway table where I had just put it out. Kim is a beautiful woman and always has great clothes she buys in thrift stores. I know she cant afford to go anywhere else. I put another flashy butterfly top out on the giveaway table the next morning and somebody got it, too. Same reason, too overpowering. I dont even like photos of myself in overpowering figured tops! See below. Darling beige sweater but too loose along with loose pants. Some clothes are starting to hang too loose on me. Good sign I am losing wt. but will have to discard some. Tall Ronda is going to look wonderful in it. Us authors have to be careful about what we wear in public! I see Joan Jobe Smith has a new book out. She is another author fashion plate. Her book is called Tales of an Aging Go Go Girl.
