Went on my Last trip to Middle Earth yesterday (Monday), at least via Theater. What an excellent film. Peter Jackson is a genius, and tied all Six Films together so well, and did the great J.R.R. Tolkien Justice. Now, as someone who actually read The Hobbit, I am among the people who compare it to the Book. Here is where I separate myself from the crowd though...People who say the book was better...stop. Neither was better than the Other. Peter Jackson took the Brilliant work that Tolkien wrote years ago, followed it very well, and added some of his own ideas in that tied things together, along with allowing Actors from LOTR to be apart of the film. It was seamless, and Tolkien is definitely smiling down on us from Heaven as we enjoy his original work recreated. Granted, it was a bit of a money grabbing move to stretch one book over three movies....but I can see why. When the book talks about the long journeys over the mountains, you see it in the movie. You see full fight scenes. Along with Jacksons added flair, it makes sense. Regardless....Absolutely amazing Film. Go see it if you havent already. (P.S. The 3D is worth the extra couple bucks if you have it.)
