Went out in my hip waders to weed the pond around 5:00 p.m. This is the first day it has been hot enough to do it. I was proud of using my core and working on my balance until I stepped into a hole that sucked my foot down, down into the mud, and over I went--water in the gloves, water in the waders. Hopelessly wet and muddy I slogged to shore, emptied my waders, ditched my soaked socks and went back to work. Weeded till it was too dark to work--9:30 on this day at this latitude. To say I was a hot mess would not be just a figure of speech. I had to scrub my skin with a brush to get the mud off when I finally reached the shower...
