Went out this afternoon to feed the dogs and outdoor buns, and noticed Molly had a lawn chair in her enclosure, but figured Kate maybe had sat out there with her yesterday and just forgot to bring it in. Couldnt find Liadans babies at first either, and thought perhaps shed done the same thing Ebony had done, and moved the cardboard OVER them, especially since it got really cold again last night, but then I realized she had made an actual BURROW out of hay! I had put walls on 2 sides of the fresh nestbox corner when I replaced the previous nest, because I didnt want her babies to crawl out the sides, and Liadan had shoved the hay up those walls, and then made a U shaped tunnel into it. I didnt count her babies because we have a few more nights of cold ahead, and I didnt want to mess up that burrow. But as I went to leave the rabbitry, I found out why the lawn chair that had been IN the rabbitry was instead out in the dogs yard - as Molly came bounding in to see what I was doing! The wire around the rabbitry has rusted near the bottom, and either the chair got knocked over by my buck crashing into it, or Molly jumped on the wire from outside and dragged it out to play with it. Either way, I had to repair a 2 foot hole. Which Molly tried to help with as well! She kept trying to take my leather work gloves off, I guess she thought they were dog toys or treats. Sheesh.
