Went to Akebono last night and continued to be blown away. Started with the squid salad and pork dumplings. The squid salad is my favorite one in town, fresh and full of flavor. The dumplings were pan fried and full of rich umami flavors. You can also get them steamed or deep fried. The fish they use in their sushi is amazing, and last night was no exception. The three rolls we had were the compressor with salmon pressed into the rice and super fresh avocado, the twister which was filled with seafood and was spicy and crunchy (tempura fried) and the oh, snap roll, which Im not even sure of whats in it, but only that I would likely eat it for every meal if the opportunity presented itself. I also had delicious miso soup. Their cocktail menu is imaginative and packs a punch.
