Went to Boycott the Tricycle Cinema event. It seemed bashert that - TopicsExpress

Went to Boycott the Tricycle Cinema event. It seemed bashert that I should, as I was in Chelsea and Kilburn is on the way home. When I got there I first walked past the main entrance on the side road which looked very open for business. Walking on, I noted there were more police worried about the Jews than anyone else though over the next hour they did turn around but that aspect was peaceful. As I walked towards the protestors - a few hundred of them - I noted Gid Smith debating with a local palestinian (which continued non-stop until after I left over an hour later). There were large numbers of CST there to overview, so with them and the police it was certainly a safe place. The only moment things got nasty is when some swastikas and signs in German where hung outside the building. This brought angry folk from inside who were very riled and angry about this. it does seem the Tricycle is sensitive about being called anti-semitic. Many vehicles honked in support as they went past. There was no oppostion. One hopes that if and when Tricycle loses funding they dont blame the Jews but they probably will. Has Gideon Smith got home yet or is he still debating?
