Went to Nouveau Tavern tonight for dinner with hubby. Had a $59 groupon for an appetizer, 2 entrees & 2 signature drinks. Hubby had the Apple Pie A la Mode, I had the Magnolia Rose, we each had 3, yes they were that good. Appetizer was the seafood gumbo, which we both enjoyed. My entrée was the fried catfish w/red beans & rice, didnt care for the beans but the catfish & rice were delicious, he had the pork chops w/greens, & mac & cheese, also very good. For desert, pecan pie a la mode, the pecan pie almost had too much whiskey in it but it was tasty. The service was exceptional. I mean we really enjoyed ourselves until.......we got the bill. So we will not be returning because they added the gratuity, $31.40 which was supposed to be 20%, but at the bottom of the receipt where the suggested gratuities are SUGGESTED it listed the 20% gratuity as being $19.88. I didnt go there, thats not what I do. But this is, I tell everybody, & I will also contact Groupon & let them know. WHY DOES IT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE SOMETHING. Is it bec. of the area or what? Now Ill give a restaurant a 2nd chance when the service or a couple of food items are iffy, but I wont give them a second chance to take my money. Im going to miss the food & the drinks.
