Went to Tucson today for a doctors appointment. Its the first - TopicsExpress

Went to Tucson today for a doctors appointment. Its the first time Ive been to Tucson in about a year. Its only 50 miles or so, but it seems light years away when Im in the boonies. Ive been dealing with swollen lymph nodes in my neck for the past 2 months or so, and feeling pretty crappy overall. At one time I had a persistent cough, which I got rid of by eating 1 TBSP of raw, unpasteurized honey every day. At that time, I had convinced myself that I had lung cancer. Then after I got rid of the cough and the swollen lymph nodes persisted, with some hoarseness, I climbed the wall of worry thinking I might have throat cancer. The doc X-rayed my neck, shoulder and arthritic left knee, which is pretty much non-functional nowadays due to osteoarthritis. Shes sending the X-rays to a radiologist for examination, and in the interim, she seems to think I have an infection of some sort, to be determined after I have blood work and urinalysis done next week. Then, she wants me to have a mammography, a gynecological exam and a colonoscopy. The works, a complete diagnostic tune up. I havent been to a doctor for about 10 years now, so I guess its time to see how the body is holding up, given that Im now 58 years and 3 days young. Got caught in a BLINDING rainstorm on I-10 on the way home. Visibility was virtually zero, and traffic was crawling at about 30 mph. Some vehicles pulled off on the shoulder to wait it out. Now its looking VERY stormy outside my house. Im going to finish the Pizza Hut doggie bag I brought home, take some antibiotics and lie down. Maybe Ill feel better soon. Hope so. Maybe I wont have to torture myself with thoughts of lung cancer or throat cancer tonight. The hubby is driving home tonight from Alhambra (right next to downtown L.A.) and it will probably be in the wee hours of the morning before he gets here. Ill be asleep by then, probably. He still has the remotes for the gates and his house key, so he can get in. Looking forward to seeing him, but Im just very tired right now.
