Went to a new place last night (Cleary Summit), after meeting Greg Syverson and seeing Deanna from Martys class at the Pipeline, and was just getting into my truck to warm up when a young man approached and asked for help with his camera. He was a young Chinese man, visiting with his girlfriend for week from Chicago where he attends college (PhD studies in electrical engineering!) Anyway, the young man had NO idea how to capture the lights, nor did he even have a tripod. Thanks to everything Ive learned from people in the group, the class I recently took from Marty, and practicing I was able to set him up (and lent him my extra tripod for the evening as he didnt have one). We even met another young man from Hong Kong studing at UAF who is on this site (Mr. Wu - hello!!) Awesome night, both for lights and people!!
