Went to a service this morning that was full of ritual and symbolism, helping to re-enact and feel the importance of this weeks events as they unfold towards the crucifixion of Christ and our ultimate redemption. Not all churches do this but they really should. It is moving and very deep and connects one more spiritually with the incredible gift that was given to us through Jesus Christ. You feel it! It also makes you stop and think about what life would be like without it. This coming Friday...Good Friday.....is one of those times also. If you have never been and have the opportunity, go to a Tenebrae service (usually at a Lutheran church, Missouri Synod). Although it is like a funeral, it is by far the absolute best service ever as far as really being in touch with God and feeling and understanding the magnitude of all that is Holy Week. I promise, you will never forget the experience if it is done in wholeness! This has been my favorite service all of my life...so full of meaning and making you fully cognizant of the passion and emotions of the cross and redemption! Blessings on your journey this week..
