Went to an advanced screening of the movie 12 Years A Slave on Australia Day. Movie officially comes out in Australia on the 30thJan and is expected to do very well come the Oscars. Please be warned if you are planning to watch it - it is inspiring, moving, emotional and quite raw and graphic. Probably the most confronting movie Ive seen in years on the subject of slavery and Ive seen a fair bit. Maybe not for those of us with a weak stomach - there were scenes that I had to literally close my eyes even though I do consider myself as someone that can take it any day of the week.
