Went to dnd encounters/adventure league tonight. I never got to go before but have wanted to for two years now. So tonight just so happened I was able to go. So I rolled up a hill dwarf cleric for level one. When I got there introduced myself they said they where doing a homebrew for Halloween and it was at level 10. So I start making my level 1 cleric go up to level 10. I was going through spell list and picked mostly healing spells but a few damage spells also. We go through the labyrinth tonight and we finally get to the boss of the level. Its called a click-flack (a character of a Neil gaiman short story) . The DM was really excited for this battle you could see it in his face. It came to my turn in combat and my one cleric spell is banishment. Which takes an object to another material plain and if it doesnt have a spot to come back it cant. Its a dc save and he rolls it and his smile disappears. He asks to read the spell description and you just see in his face disappointment. He was speechless for a moment and was like well that ends the night. He said well there goes a 320 hit point monster right down the drain. Then he said well Ill never forget that finish. I was stoked my little cleric ended big bad monster in one turn.Everyone one else seemed happy about the easy fight also.
