Went to see 300 - Rise of an Empire film today 12.30 Seniors / Cheapo Tuesday (or summat) slot at Empire Clydebank (and survived - was quite busy!) and loved it!!!! (As I did 300). Sullivan Stapleton (Shadow Fire Series) slides into role seamlessly, Lena Headey (Terminator mini series and Game of Thrones) as Leonidass wife is (still) perfect and Eva Green as the baddie is brill (shell b in the upcoming Penny Dreadful also). Xerxes is still the best creation and a tad underused? Bit too much concerned with naval battles of the time following Thermopolae but r brilliantly done and the CGs r amazing yet still keep that human horror of the sea there!?!? Some of the human patter a bit off but always watchable and fast-paced and music great and soo violent and gory - in a bloody yet realistic way. Some scenes r amazing - the CG sacking of Athens, the arrival of the Spartan fleet at the eleventh hour... 300 #3 asap pp!! OOPS! Watched it in 3D - superb! only way!! A Father+Son film?!?
