Went to see a neurosurgeon in Detroit today. She told me after 12 years of chronic, daily headaches that she can do surgery and if all goes as planned I will be pain free. Maybe I am just overly emotional (ok, so no maybe about it) but I cried and hugged her. Unless you live with pain daily, you have no idea how it inhibits your life. And not to minimize anyone else, but headaches are a different deal altogether. How, you say? Try living with the feeling that someone is pounding a spike through the back of your head and up behind your eye, all day, every day, and eating migraine meds or whatever new magic med the docs come up with like they are M&Ms just to make it through a day, and then dealing with the fuzzy-head effects from them. I think this surgeon is a God send, because I was starting to think a guillotine was my on recourse.
