Went to the Congressional Field Hearing in Sonora on the frogs and toads issue. Congressmen McClintock and Nunes hosted, may God bless them for their concern for the people. Not looking good - in my opinion - for the rural counties along the Sierra Nevada. Siskiyou County is just about dead. Looks like the USFWS will list the frogs and toads as endangered which will require a critical habitat decree. Slowly we the people will lose access to the mountains. The hope is enough people will make an economic argument during the comment period to stop this taking of the peoples lands from the people. Already most mountains counties are losing population due to lack of jobs and economic opportunity, and some are already over 50% on welfare. Trees keep on growing and the timber harvest is 7% of the annual growth, forests are thick with trees at about 225 trees per acre with the risk of major fires. Slowly the population is being shifted from the rural areas to the cities. The primary economic driver now is recreation and tourism, and slowly this will be killed off too as access is closed off. Reluctantly I am getting closer to believe there are forces at work to depopulate the earth and leave this beautiful planet and its resources to a small group of elitists. Frogs & Toads may be a California issue, however there are similar issues in play all across the U.S. Heads up my friends and join the fight.
