Went to the Lorrain Bridge today. Wanted to see it in its summer dress. There was a light rain, no big deal, I did not melt,nor float. The cypress trees are thick and green. The old pump house has a complete covering of vines and heavily leaved limbs. Lacassine Bayou is full, so the swamp has a lot of water too. The pictures do not really convey the darkness of the area under the trees in the swamp. They have finished the new docks at the park. Both docks have a picnic table. I was wishing I would have had a lunch. I would have perched at a table, done the deed on the food and watched the bayou flow by. Either table is a nice spot to sit and enjoy the scenery. It is one of the nicest small parks I have seen anywhere. The combination of the trees, the water and the new-old bridge are unique....
