Went to the Mount Diablo Woodworkers Association meeting. Was not - TopicsExpress

Went to the Mount Diablo Woodworkers Association meeting. Was not the only woman there. Showed off the harp (which was the darling of Show&Tell). Networked a little. Discovered that PHAE has open woodshop periods, including walk-ins ($15 for a couple of hours). Heard that Pacheco Lumber takes residential trees and makes them into lumber (which is what we want to do). Got on their mailing list. Had some nifty ideas for boxes. Came home with inlays on the brain. Just spent a couple of hours looking up table planers and bandsaws on Craigslist (to be fair, Ive been doing that for the last week). Want to try brass inlay tomorrow. Might stop by Hardwood Resource tomorrow to show off the harp -- the owner made the string rib, and I want to see what theyve got for inlay before heading to Rockler. Thinking about signing up for a cabinetry class at PHAE next term. At least its a useful hobby...
