Went to the Rivoli in Camberwell and viewed The Monument Men, a fairly pedestrian film about Americans saving European art from the Nazis and the Soviet Union. The film was little more than a platform for Clooney and Damon. Bill Murray and John Goodman far outstripped the big names. Cate Blanchett was the star performer. The heroics of the intrepid Americans efforts to recapture the great works - one Brit featured and a German Jew exiled to the USA (played by an American of Greek ethnicity) - was hamfisted and badly portrayed. Sad. Good true story badly told.
