Went to the doctor to day to tell him we are going to proceed with chemo only to find out that Scott is dehydrated again so have to get that under control before chemo can continue. They are overnighting a pump and IVs so he will get additional IV fluids starting tomorrow morning. He has already been getting IV fluids added to his TPN so this will be on top of what he has been getting. Hopefully getting a couple liters of that in him tomorrow will have him feeling better. We will meet with the surgeon on Wednesday morning to see if he has any ideas as to what is causing the vomiting. As I mentioned above Scott has decided as soon as he is able that he will continue with chemo treatment. We were undecided because there is a high risk that he could develop another infection that could potentially be fatal and end his life prematurely. I cant even tell you the agony we faced in making this decision...If we do nothing he eventually will die but if we do chemo it could kill him sooner than if we did nothing. At this time it is his only option for trying to beat this and so we are trusting God that he will allow the chemo to do its job against the tumors without putting Scott at further risk and that he will protect his body from infection. As many of you know we almost lost him after his last chemo treatment due to him becoming septic and developing double pneumonia so we are praying the chemo does not affect his body negatively. Please pray that his body will get stronger and respond to the IV fluids over the next couple days and that when chemo does continue that God will protect Scotts body from infection and allow the chemo to shrink the tumors and open up his bowel obstruction so he can start to eat solid foods again.
