Went to the gym, bumped into these South Indian guys who were literally banging their heads in frustration. When I asked them why, they replied that they had been awake all night as they had gone to watch Rajnikanths Lingaa in the 1am show which got over at 4am. They said they were so upset that the film was absolutely horrible. They contended that the director had simply lost it and was out of sync with the times. They added that thee was neither a story nor a screenplay so what could poor Rajni sir also do - he sleepwalked through he film. Then one of them had a spark in his eyes and told me - you know, the only good piece of acting in the film came from Sonakshi Sinha. I asked incredulously, really?? He confirmed that as a south Indian village girl, she was brilliant. Well, at least someone got a compliment. They also told me that a large contingent of Japanese had landed in Chennai to be the first ones to watch the film. Then one of them whispered in my ear - well, actually I will watch this film once again only because I am such a big fan of Rajni sir.
