Went to the movie theater this evening and saw Sinbad: the Fifth Voyage. The trailer seemed OK and it was starring Patrick Stewart, so why not? I enjoy the tales from the 1001 Arabian Nights, they are quite entertaining and highly imaginative. Heres why not. This was by far the most pathetic attempt at movie making that Ive ever seen. Ever. In general my expectations for movies are not high, but I do expect a certain level of quality. This attempt at movie making failed on every conceivable level, starting with the acting, script, dialogue, cinematography, art direction, etc. How bad was it? About 20 minutes into the film the other audience members began leaving their seats and no one came back. By the end of the film I was the only one in the theater. I was tempted to leave as well but keep holding on to the hope that somehow it would redeem itself. It didnt. As for Patrick Stewart, he only narrated the thoughts of the main actor, but when the main actor was actually speaking it was his own voice not Patrick Stewarts voice... ???
