Went to urgent care yesterday because my entire left leg, from the knee (surgery the week before last) to my toes was heavily swollen and red. Turns out to be infected - so now Im on three different antibiotics. Great. Just keep it coming. But this afternoon while at Ralphs (Kroger) I stopped when I heard them slicing bread. Just like when my dad had the bread sliced at the German bakery when I was a kid. And they had a really old machine too and didnt understand why I was standing there for 15 minutes. Havent heard it since my childhood in New York. Great sound . . . chug - chug - chug - chug - chug. Then I stumbled into Target to return something and walked out with a blue shark wind-up bathtub toy. And a great bubble blaster gun with wonderful colors. Both a buck each. I love this stuff. And now I dont have to keep on feeling guilty about not seeing King Kong (2005) in the theater because its on cable tonight. Followed by a 1962 Naked City. Sitting with ice on my leg as I eat my bowl of cherries. Life is good. :-)
