Went to walmart tonight to go grocery shopping. I had my headphones on, so it was relatively pleasant as I rocked out. At the checkout, the nicest cashier EVER checked me out. I know-in Walmart on a Friday night? Behind me was a woman who lived in a Lifescape group home with one of the aides. She was asking me questions about what I was buying, what I did with it, and so on. She asked why I was buying my son certain foods and I said he had autism, which makes it hard for him to eat certain textures or foods. Her face lit up and she said I know autism too, it has some of my friends. Your son is one of my friends now, and reached out to hold my hand. I almost started bawling at the checkout. You never know when youre going to be entertaining angels.
