Went up to my property to check on things up near Piedra Lumbre. While coming down to the vehicle after a good little walk, off in the distance about 300 yards away, me & Cody Jordan Romero hear an unmistakable (WHOOOOP). Echoed throughout the forest and what ever made it sounded powerful. Wasnt coyotes, foxs elk, deer, cougar, bobcat, bear, or any other domestic animal I have ever heard. Sounded more Ape like. Being a hunter, & having heard various animals throughout my life, were stumped. Call me crazy, but whatever made that vocalization had vocal cords. No one else was in that area, as its too rugged, and remote for anyone to be on foot, or in a vehicle. Peña, I think we have a distant primate relative lurking these neck of the woods...
